Our team visited a construction site with Damanique. She’s a mother of six, and soon she and her kids will move into their very own Habitat home.
When we walked through the house together to see the progress, her youngest daughter picked up a marker, found a bare board in what will soon be her bedroom, and wrote four simple words:
“I love this home.”
It stopped everyone in their tracks. Because for that little girl, this isn’t just wood and nails — it’s the promise of space, safety, and a chance to dream.
Damanique has worked so hard to get here. She completed homebuyer education classes, improved her credit, and partnered with Memphis Habitat to qualify for an affordable mortgage.
